State Aviation Officials Bring National Convention To Air Capital

Wichita Will Host NASAO Meeting

State aviation officials from across the United States will be in Wichita for the 2010 National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) convention. "Aviation 2020 and Beyond: A Clear Vision for the Future" is the theme for the convention to be held at the Hyatt Regency Wichita September 11-15, 2010.

The line-up of forum speakers includes top executives from Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Security Administration, National Transportation Safety Board, aviation consulting firms and local manufacturers. These professionals will share their views on current and future issues affecting the industry and insight on new aviation products and services.

"NASAO board, members, and staff are delighted to celebrate our 79th conference in the Air Capital of the World," said Henry Ogrodzinski, NASAO president and CEO. "Our robust agenda covers a wide variety of 21st century challenges. We look forward to sharing this information with our colleagues throughout the industry."

Ed Young, Kansas DOT Division of Aviation director adds "Wichita is a perfect location to discuss the future of aviation. Pioneering aviation innovation is our specialty."

Founded in 1931, the National Association of State Aviation Officials is one of the most senior aviation organizations in the United States, predating even the Federal Aviation Administration's predecessor, the Civil Aeronautics Authority. "Wichita has a rich history of producing more general aviation aircraft here than any other place in the world," said Victor White, director of Wichita's Airport System. "We are thrilled to be partners in hosting aviation leaders from around the country to see why Wichita holds such a special place in the aviation industry."

John Rolfe, Go Wichita Convention & Visitors Bureau president and CEO, agrees. "The aviation industry is vital to Wichita and we are honored that NASAO would hold its national convention in our city," said Rolfe.
