Greater Love Hath No Man....
A well-known NW Aviator and a good
friend to several of us at ANN, Jim Londo (60), was lost this past
weekend when a weather-induced forced landing went bad. Jim was a
major (and delightful) personality in the Arlington area sport
aviation community and a true sport aviation advocate. A regular
presence in the New Glasair/GlaStar exhibit at Arlington, he was a
significant cheerleader for all things aeronautical. Simply put, he
was a helluva nice guy.
In Saturday's accident, the true personality and nature of this
man became evident. After being forced down in bad territory in
Toutle, (Northern) Washington, Jim pulled his unconscious
brother and his brother's son out of the burning wreck, even though
severely injured himself. They will survive. Jim succumbed to
his injuries the next day. In no uncertain terms, this man will be
missed. Greater love hath no man....
