West Star Aviation Named East Alton Rotary 'Business Of The Year'

Recognized By Local Rotary Club For Job Creation, Economic Impact

The Rotary Club of East Alton, IL recently recognized West Star Aviation as their Business of the Year. Brad Lavite, incoming East Alton Rotary Club president, applauded West Star for keeping their national headquarters at St. Louis Regional Airport and adding a 47,000 square foot maintenance facility, which was dedicated on May 13, 2014.

While the airline industry as a whole has been struggling in recent years, business at West Star Aviation continues to grow. Total facility space in this community has grown from 250,000 to 317,300 square feet and they now employ approximately 300 employees here. West Star also has facilities in Grand Junction and Aspen, CO, Columbia, S.C and Chesterfield, MO.

In a recent survey published in Professional Pilot magazine, pilots voted West Star Aviation as the number one Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in the nation. “West Star Aviation’s commitment to quality service has made them one of the world’s leading aviation service providers,” said David Miller, Rotary Club member and airport manager at St. Louis Regional. “I am continually impressed by the number of international planes that come into the airport for service based on their reputation.”

West Star Aviation, Inc. specializes in the repair and maintenance of airframes, windows, and engines, as well as major modifications, avionics installation and repair, interior refurbishment, surplus avionics sales, accessory services, paint and parts.

In addition to its facilities in East Alton, IL; Grand Junction, CO; and Columbia, SC. West Star Aviation runs the maintenance operations at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport in Aspen, CO and at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield, MO. The company also provides complete FBO services for transient aircraft at its newly remodeled East Alton and Grand Junction facilities.
