AeroLEDs Lowers AeroSUN Pricing, Extends Warranty

Customers Who Purchased Lights At Higher Price Will Receive Rebate

Less than one month after AeroLEDs LLC of Boise, ID unveiled its new AeroSUN LED-based anti-collision/landing light system at AirVenture 2007, the company told ANN Wednesday the company has cut prices, due to an "overwhelmingly positive response."

AeroLEDs tells ANN manufacturing costs depend on the sales volume, with costs amortized over the projected number of units sold. "The initial demand for this product is much higher than was originally forecast, allowing AeroLEDs to pass on the savings to its customers," the company says. Product pricing has been adjusted from $450 per unit or $850 for a pair down to $350 per unit or $650 for a pair.

As ANN reported, the AeroSUN is 100% solid state, utilizing high intensity LED's, which use just 20-50% of the current of traditional filament or HID based lighting while producing substantially more light.

Product pricing has been adjusted from $450 per unit or $850 for a pair down to $350 per unit or $650 for a pair, making the AeroSUN product an even greater value.

And, to show the price reduction isn't a gimmick... customers who purchased the AeroSUN product at the former price will be receiving a cash rebate, to show the company's appreciation of their decision to purchase the zero-maintenance landing/taxi/recognition light system.

"Our initial target was 200 light assemblies for the first year of production, said AeroLEDs President Mike D'Amico, "however, based on the rate that they are selling, we have adjusted this number higher, allowing us to offer the product at a price that will compete well with traditional Halogen lights.

"The maintenance costs and hassle-factor of replacing halogen bulbs, compared with the increased safety of being able to operate recognition lights in all phases of flight will make the decision to upgrade to our product even easier with the new pricing," D'Amico added. "In addition, we have decided to extend our product warranty to 10 years which is twice that of even the HID lighting systems available"

The AeroSUN units can be installed with a single unit on the nose gear, cowling, or installed in pairs within the wingtips. The wingtip configuration also allows for a phased "blinking" (Wig-Wag) of the lights, offering an effective anti-collision system that does not shorten the service life of the lights. The AeroSUN units are rated for 50,000 hours of operation, up to 16 times the life of competing technologies.
