The 2011 Sport Aircraft Tour Continues

Dallas Ft Worth Set For An LSA Invasion October 14-16

Addison, Denton & Dallas Executive airports in the Dallas Ft Worth area are hosting the 2011 Dallas Ft Worth Sport Plane Tour. Aircraft will be on display and demonstration flights available at each of the locations in mid-October.

Bill Canino of Sportair USA, one of the participants said “Not everyone interested in purchasing a plane can attend one of the larger shows each year. The Sport Plane Tours have been a great way to showcase these aircraft to a much more localized and interested audience”. “This is the ideal format for people to check out the top ten Sport Aircraft without the pressure or hassle of a national show” said Randy Schlitter of Rans Aircraft. “In fact, it’s probably the best format to see all the main Sport Aircraft players, and demo each model” he added.

Texas is the third largest aviation state in the nation, and the organizers say no national event caters for this large audience of aviators. The Dallas Fort Worth area has the highest concentration of aviators in Texas. Within the 30 nm Mode C veil surrounding DFW are more than 50 airports, airparks and private airfields. Also, one of the largest LSA fleet operators and maintenance facilities in the country, US Aviation, is based close by in Denton, just north of DFW.

The Tour, running October 14th through 16th is visiting three airports in the Dallas Ft. Worth area:

  • Oct 14th KADS (Addison) 1400-1930 CDT Host: US Sport Aircraft.
  • Oct 15th KDTO (Denton)  0800-1600 CDT Host: US Aviation Group.
  • Oct 16th KRBD (Dallas Exec) 0800-1600 CDT Host: City of Dallas.

"Sport pilot and Light Sport Aircraft is the new and exciting way to get involved in flying with less time and expense” according to Patrick Arnzen of US Sport Aircraft, one of the tour hosts. “The Sport Aircraft tour helps to introduce people to the Light Sport Aircraft revolution” he added. “Owning a Light Sport Aircraft is easy, affordable, safe and fun” said Scott Severen of US Aviation. “People wanting to understand flying and owning Light Sport Aircraft will get to see a full service LSA facility that provides sales, factory authorized maintenance and repair, pre-purchase evaluations and flight training. All of this is in their backyard at Denton Airport.” he added. According to Remos’s Sue Parker. “The Dallas Ft. Worth Sport Aircraft tour is an excellent way to see what’s available, speak with flight instructors, maintenance personnel and manufacturers all at the one easy location”.

At each event the Sport Aircraft Tour is hosted by an organization. The organizers are very grateful to the City of Dallas, US Sport Aircraft and US Aviation who are the hosts for the Dallas Ft Worth Tour. Refreshments will be available at each location. US Aviation is holding a pancake breakfast to coincide with the Denton stop.
