Strategic 'Entry Into Service' 787 Position Created By Goodrich

Two Senior Leaders Appointed To Key Roles

Goodrich Corporation is apparently looking beyond Boeing's current setbacks on the Dreamliner, appointing Mike Brand as Vice President, 787/Commercial Airframe Entry Into Service (EIS). Brand will report to the company's three Segment Presidents – Jack Carmola (Actuation and Landing Systems), Cindy Egnotovich (Nacelles and Interior Systems) and Curtis Reusser (Electronic Systems).  Dave Castagnola, currently Vice President and General Manager, Programs and Manufacturing at Goodrich's Aerostructures business, succeeds Brand as President of the company's Landing Gear business.

"Mike and Dave are seasoned executives who have led their businesses to improved results, and I welcome each of them to their new roles," said Goodrich Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Marshall Larsen. "Serving as an enterprise interface with Boeing on the 787 program, Mike will have direct line responsibility for all EIS-related activity, coordinating as appropriate with the entire organization. In this new position, he will be able to leverage our resources and talent for the benefit of our customer Boeing as well as for 787 operators. Throughout his career, Dave has built strong relationships with key customers, complementing his experience in a variety of leadership positions in program management, engineering and operations. This suits him well to lead our Landing Gear business."

Brand joined Goodrich in 2005 as President of its Landing Gear business, bringing more than 20 years of experience working for large aerospace companies, including General Electric and Teleflex. He holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Clarkson University in New York, an MBA from Xavier University in Ohio and a Master of Management from the University of Pennsylvania.

Castagnola joined Goodrich when it merged with Rohr, Inc. in 1997, and Rohr became the company's Aerostructures business. Following 27 years in engineering, program management and operations of increasing responsibilities, he was appointed to his most recent position of Vice President and General Manager, Programs and Manufacturing at Goodrich's Aerostructures business in 2008. Prior to joining Goodrich, Castagnola worked for San Diego Aircraft Engineering in manufacturing engineering roles. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from San Diego State University in California.

The new roles for both Brand and Castagnola are effective Jan. 1, 2011.
