Oh My, Dubai! DAE Flight Academy Goes With Cirrus For Training

Takes Delivery Of Two SR22s At 2007 Dubai Air Show

Cirrus Design Corporation and Dubai Aerospace Enterprises Flight Academy (DAE Flight Academy), a division of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise University, entered into a long term agreement this week to provide aircraft for flight training.

DAE Flight Academy accepted two SR22 aircraft at the 2007 Dubai Air Show. The planes will be utilized for curriculum development and instructor standardization training. Volume delivery of the training fleet will commence in 2008.

The SR22 Turbo is also making its first appearance in the Gulf at the show, spreading the company's global aspirations in ushering in an era of affordable and available personal air travel.

"At present the Middle East is an untapped market for us and as such we look to capitalize upon the expanding general aviation opportunities in the region," said John Bingham, Managing Director, Cirrus International Sales. "We aim to make our planes, and the lifestyles associated with them, available to customers in the Middle East and envisage the market will grow healthily over the next few years, especially in the private aviation sector, and we expect to be part of that."

"This investment reflects our confidence in the growth and vision of the flight academy within the regional market. By working together and leveraging the advanced technology and unique features of these aircraft, I am confident that the flight academy will set the standard for training a new generation of professional pilots," said Bob Johnson, CEO of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise,

William Roe, Director of the DAE Flight Academy commented, "We are excited to receive our first flight training aircraft from Cirrus. We conducted an exhaustive comparison of training aircraft available and the Cirrus SR22 provided the best platform for our industry leading and innovative training curriculum."

For five consecutive years, the Cirrus SR22 has been the world's best selling single-engine four-passenger airplane. "The Cirrus SR22 is an excellent choice for the Dubai Aerospace Enterprises fleet," said Bingham. "It's simple to fly -- making it ideal for training purposes - and yet it's sophisticated enough to rival more expensive airplanes. The Cirrus SR22 is the ultimate in refined elegance and engineering excellence."
