New Jeppesen FlitePlan Online Features Optimize Flight Operations

Route Optimization, ETOPS, NOTAM Management Among New Capabilities

Jeppesen has introduced new features and functionality of Jeppesen FlitePlan Online for business aviation operators. The new features enhance operational efficiency and simplify the overall flight planning process through a Web-based solution.

Operators using Jeppesen FlitePlan Online in European airspace now have the ability to access Jeppesen’s route optimization engine. This option provides the most cost effective method for creating optimized first-time flight plans in the region. Extended operations (ETOPS) capabilities are now provided through Jeppesen FlitePlan Online, while a NOTAM management tool helps organize critical flight data.

Jeppesen FlitePlan Online now also provides Central Flow Management Unit (CFMU) validation for flights within European airspace, refinement of routing options and improved organization of weather data. New alert management capabilities provide improved viewing for operators and multiple performance enhancements allow for an enhanced experience with filing, processing and overall workflow.

“New capabilities now offered through Jeppesen FlitePlan Online further enhance the user experience and simplify the flight planning process for business aviation operators,” said Tim Huegel, director, Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management. “Introduction of optimized route planning in Europe, ETOPS capabilities and CFMU validation continue to build on the successful framework of Jeppesen FlitePlan Online, which allows worldwide flight plans to be intuitively designed and filed in less than one minute and eliminates multiple-step data entry.”

Jeppesen FlitePlan Online for business aviation operators includes intelligent routing, weather and weight and balance capabilities based on an operator’s exact aircraft configuration. The solution also consolidates and stores relevant flight planning information like weather, NOTAMs, RAIM reports, graphical weather chart overlays, and weight and balance data in a single flight package, allowing for repeatable flight planning operations and decreased pilot workload.

When complete, this final flight package can be printed, emailed or uploaded directly to an operator’s flight management computer (FMC) for easy delivery and filing. Overall, Jeppesen FlitePlan Online streamlines the flight planning process to enable increased fuel efficiency and reduced costs while enhancing situational awareness.
