CA Air Transport Security Authority Selects Bioscrypt for Restricted Access

Bioscrypt, a leading provider of advanced fingerprint technology, announced today that the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) has deployed Bioscrypt fingerprint readers to enhance security measures at the Authority's headquarters in Ottawa.

CATSA has deployed Bioscrypt's fingerprint readers throughout their facility restricting access for 155 personnel working within the building.

This initial installation is being used as a reference for potential future deployments in the Canadian air transport industry.

"Adding CATSA to our list of recent deployments is a testament to the ability of our products to easily and reliably identify users," said Pierre Donaldson, president and CEO of Bioscrypt Inc.

"Bioscrypt fingerprint readers are fast becoming the biometric of choice for securing mission-critical locations."

CATSA is responsible for acquiring, deploying and maintaining EDS equipment at designated airports covering 99 percent of air travelers in Canada. In addition, CATSA works with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for the provision of on-board security services under the Air Carrier Protective Program.

Currently, the authority is working with Transport Canada and the airport authorities to develop and implement an enhanced restricted area pass system for non-passengers.
