Annual Auction To Offer Priceless Experiences For Aviators

Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum 'For Love Of Country' Gala and Auction Set For December 8th

The 2018 Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum “For Love of Country” Gala and Auction on December 8th, 2018 in Ford Island’s battle-scarred Hangar 79 will offer some spectacular and priceless items for aviators during this year’s event.

Among the dozens of lots available, highlights include:

Professional Jet Upset Recognition and Recovery Training Program

The package, donated by Flight Research, is a two-day program focused on training pilots to properly understand, assess and correct an upset condition. The course incorporates a specialized ground school on jet aerodynamics and basic test pilot information on aircraft limitations to help you become a safer, more confident, and better pilot. Two flights are conducted in an Aermacchi MB326 Impala and a Saberliner 60 aircraft. This training is provided by US Navy Test Pilot Instructors, Air Force Test Pilot Instructors, and NASA Astronauts at the Flight Research headquarters in Mojave, California.

Unique Helicopter Cross Country flight from Seattle to Oshkosh with Flight Training

Travel to Seattle to start the trip, experience 15 training hours in a Bell Ranger helicopter while flying to the world’s greatest aviation event – AirVenture Oshkosh.

  • Lodging along the way - hotel, camping, you name it!
  • 4 nights lodging in Oshkosh and VIP EAA AirVenture experience, golf cart tours of grounds and tickets to the acclaimed Gathering gala.

Never before offered, this rare opportunity to travel cross-country, at heights of 500 ft. above the ground, the best viewing on the planet, includes many side benefits. If you are interested, and if you are a pilot, log hours towards your helicopter rating while in flight. Take the controls and power the trip forward with Grant Noritz, your “experience” guide. Once you arrive in Oshkosh, hotel, tours, special events all await you. It is an aviators dream. The return flight from Oshkosh will be on United Airlines.

The gala event will have multiple WWII veterans in attendance, including American Triple Ace, Col. Bud Anderson, and is designed as a night of tribute and passion, bringing hundreds together to remember the past and inspire the future.

Live and silent auctions will add to the excitement; including trips to France, Broadway, Napa Valley, Seattle, Iwo Jima, China. There will also be unique experiences up for auction, including a dinner in the historic Ford Island Control Tower - a beacon for freedom that has stood watch over Pearl Harbor since WWII.  All proceeds benefit the Museum’s educational initiatives.

Those interested can join in-person or online.
