ANN Welcomes AOPA Expo 2006 Major Sponsor: Piper Aircraft

Piper BLEW THE DOORS OFF NBAA 2006 with the announcement of their innovative new PiperJet. We've known about this for a while, but we'll admit to having been quite pleasantly surprised at how nice it seems to be turning out. What we're speaking of, of course, is Piper's massive NBAA announcement... their long-awaited, if unconventional, entry into the jet business.

Piper's latest move is their long-awaited expansion expand into the jet market with the all-new PiperJet, a bird that they call "a revolutionary new aircraft that will offer customers a class-setting combination of performance, style, utility, capability and pricing."

In making the announcement at NBAA 2006, Piper revealed that the PiperJet's clean-sheet design incorporates single-engine turbofan power for optimum cost efficiency, state-of-the-art safety measures, and a strong, smooth all-metal body.

The PiperJet will be capable of reaching a cruising speed of 360 knots and a maximum operating altitude of 35,000 feet. The six passenger PiperJet - with an option for either a seventh seat or enclosable lavatory - offers a mission-capable profile and sensuous luxury that sets the standard in its class, with a range of 1,300 nautical miles and a full-fuel payload of 800 lbs.

The Historic Piper Legacy

From Cubs to Meridians -- and BEYOND... Piper makes each and every aircraft they build their own. From the Arrow-inspired Warrior trainer... to the Cherokee Six... to the Seminole and Aztec twins... Pipers are easy to spot on the ramp, and even easier to find pilots simply raving about their planes. And then there's Piper's business-class singles -- available in piston form (Mirage) or turbine (Meridian) that are two of the sweetest singles to fly out there. And of course... now there's the PiperJet... wow.

Piper Aircraft, Inc. is headquartered in Vero Beach, FL, where its rich legacy is born of 70 years of unparalleled history, with more than 144,000 aircraft brought to market and more than 160 models certified. Approximately 90,000 of those aircraft are still flying and being serviced and supported on every continent by Piper's 65 service centers, 40 dealers and 2,500 field personnel. Today, Piper is the only general aviation manufacturer to build and offer aircraft for every general aviation mission, from trainers and high-performance aircraft for personal and business use, to turbine-powered business aircraft... and now, the PiperJet.

When Mr. Piper introduced the Piper Cub in 1937, he had a dream. He felt that everyone should fly. And he believed that Piper could provide everyone with that freedom.

Still keeping his dream alive today, Piper is the only general aviation manufacturer to offer a complete line of aircraft to help realize the flying dreams of most any pilot. From rugged, reliable trainers to high-performance turbo-props, Piper creates the highest quality craft for everyone -- from new pilots to adventure-seekers to serious business travelers.

ANN is told that "there is a feeling that everyone on Team Piper shares, a torch that has been passed from generation to generation. A feeling of wonder, of veneration, of excitement, of personal commitment to the dream. From the head office to the factory floor, there is an understanding that we at team Piper are not just making a thing – we’re making magic. We’re making freedom. We’re making dreams come true. We’re giving them wings."

"And that feeling has engendered a deep personal commitment to quality in everyone here. We know the value of what we make. And we’re determined to make it the best it can possibly be. We build quality in every step of the way so our owners are sure of it in the end. It is our shared passion to ensure that every one of our customers is totally satisfied with their New Piper experience.

That’s why we developed our Standards of Excellence – a set of guidelines and standards that will help ensure consistently outstanding treatment of our pilots at every stage of their Piper experience.

We know we don’t just make airplanes. We create the freedom of flight. That’s why we give our absolute best to everything we do."
