KilFrost Wins Queen's Award For Enterprise
Kilfrost Limited has been presented with the U.K's prestigious
Queen's Award for Enterprise in the International Trade
category.
The North-East company was selected for the award after
achieving a 145% increase in export sales over the last three
years, and significantly growing its global client base despite
difficult trading conditions.
"Being presented the Queen's Award for Enterprise in
International Trade is a fantastic achievement for us as a company
and we're absolutely delighted to receive such a prestigious
accolade" explained Kilfrost's Chief Executive Gary Lydiate. "Our
business has grown significantly in recent years and for the hard
work and dedication of our team to be recognized like this is
fantastic" he added.
As a leader in the de/anti-icing fluid sector, Kilfrost supplies
its safety-critical products to clients in the civil and general
aviation, rail, and heat transfer markets across the world. "We
supply customers across more than 50 countries and five continents"
Mr Lydiate explained "and in recent years we've invested in
facilities in mainland Europe, North America, and Japan to ensure
that we're able to supply product at short notice during even the
worst winter weather."
The company's reputation for delivery was further reinforced
during the recent severe wintry conditions across the northern
hemisphere where it saw a huge surge of orders. "This winter season
has been the busiest trading period in the our entire 75-year
history, with absolutely unprecedented demand. Our laboratory and
manufacturing teams went above and beyond the call of duty to
ensure our clients continued to receive supplies of product, and
thanks to a 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week production schedule
we maintained stock availability" he added.
Kilfrost has always been proud to invest in the development of
new and innovative products, and its R&D team recently
developed the world's first ever fluid based on glycol from a
sustainable source, in conjunction with Du Pont Tate & Lyle.
"Our founder Joseph Halbert developed the first ever de-icing fluid
and we take our responsibility as leaders in the market seriously
so continue to invest in ever more cutting-edge and
environmentally-friendly products" Mr Lydiate explained. "We're
proud to lead the de/anti-icing sector globally and this award is
testament to the hard work of our team across the world" he
concluded.
