OMF Symphony 160 Earns Canadian Certification

OMF Aircraft has taken another step in building an international market for the Symphony 160 -- Canadian certification. This two-place single-engine high wing aircraft is the first aircraft in the Symphony family.

"Obtaining Canadian certification is a significant milestone for OMF Aircraft and the Symphony 160," said Managing Partner Derek Stinnes. "This certification makes it possible for Canadian pilots to own and fly this popular aircraft. It's also a key step in the process of obtaining a Canadian production certificate, which we'll need for our new North American manufacturing facility in Three Rivers [Quebec]. In addition to building new aircraft, this facility will help OMF support all its North American customers."

The Symphony 160 is now certified in three countries. It was certified by the LBA in Germany in August 2000, and received certification from the FAA in April 2001. The aircraft was certified for IFR flight in June, 2002.

The OMF Symphony includes the two-place Symphony 160, the Jet A/diesel powered Symphony 135-TDI and the four-place Symphony 4.
