Ann M. Testa Tapped For Top Houston Security Post

TSA has named Ann M. Testa as Federal Security Director for George Bush Intercontinental Airport (KIAH).

Testa brings nearly 35 years of leadership experience and service to the United States. Prior to joining TSA, Testa worked for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in various leadership roles. Most recently, she served as the Acting Executive Director, Enterprise Networks and Technology Support, for CBP's Office of Information and Technology. In that position, she was responsible for enterprise architecture, design, and management of CBP's network infrastructures, with more than 2,300 employees and a budget over $410 million.

She also served in the United States Air Force for more than 27 years, retiring as a Colonel in December 2001. She commanded at various levels, including Squadron Officer College Commander, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.; Wing Commander, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii; and Support Group Commander, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa.

"Ms. Testa will be a tremendous asset to the Transportation Security Administration in Houston," said Lee Kair, TSA's Assistant Administrator for the Office of Security Operations. "Her leadership capabilities, as well as her past experience within the Department of Homeland Security, make her a natural fit as Federal Security Director. We are delighted that she will help lead the organization into the next decade."

Testa graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and obtained a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources Management from the State University of New York. She is a Harvard Senior Executive Fellow and an E-Government Senior Fellow.
