Hawker Beechcraft, FlightSafety Host Maintenance Learning Center Grand Opening

Classrooms, Flight Sims, And Direct Runway Access

Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) and FlightSafety International hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at the recently completed FlightSafety International Hawker Beechcraft Maintenance Learning Center Wednesday. Located east of the approach end of HBC's Runway 18, the new 44,000 square foot Maintenance Learning Center features 10 advanced technology classrooms, Graphical Flight-Deck simulators, composites and cabin systems labs, and direct runway access to a 10,000 square foot hangar.

"This world-class training facility represents the value of our partnership with FlightSafety and the commitment of our two companies to provide a new industry standard in maintenance training," said Bill Boisture, HBC Chairman and CEO. "Not only is it equipped to provide technicians with cutting-edge training and instruction, its proximity to the factory and access to aircraft experts also enhances the practicality and value of the course work."

The Maintenance Learning Center began hosting classes in November. Several technicians have already completed its MxPro program - a jointly-developed, innovative maintenance training program that leverages HBC's knowledge of aircraft design, manufacturing and support with FlightSafety's expertise and experience as the world's leading aviation training provider.

The two companies also held an open house at the newly expanded FlightSafety International Hawker Beechcraft Pilot Learning Center at 9720 E. Central Ave. Since 1986, FlightSafety has been the exclusive entitlement training provider for customers of new HBC aircraft. The pilot center, which trains more than 4,800 pilots annually, includes 19 full flight simulators, two flight training devices, 15 graphical flight simulators and 36 classrooms.
