AMT Awards

Rewarding That Extra Effort

This year's winners of the prize drawing for the 2003 AMT Awards Program Contest are listed below, along with the prizes and companies and associations that generously donated the prizes.

Entries for the 2003 AMT Awards Program Contest were received from aviation maintenance technicians who took the time and made the effort to obtain additional training during the past year. The Contest rewards those who obtain training and also generates excitement in the aviation maintenance community. Winners were selected at the 2004 Aviation Industry Week Show on May 18 in Las Vegas, (NV).

  • Delta Airlines Grand Prize: For winner and one guest, 4-night vacation to any Delta Airlines domestic city in the US contiguous 48, air transportation from any Delta domestic city, and $300 spending money.
    Winner: Thomas E. Tindal, Airinc, Fairhope (AK)
  • Aircraft Electronics Association: Round-trip coach airfare to/from the AEA 2005 Convention site, lodging at the AEA Convention hotel for 3 nights, full convention registration for the 2005 AEA Convention and Trade Show.
    Winner: Rita F. Bussie, Delta Airlines, Atlanta (GA)
  • Aircraft Maintenance Technology Magazine: Five hundred dollars ($500).
    Winner: Elmer R. Santos, Lufthansa Technik Philippines
  • Aircraft Technical Publishers: A one-year subscription to the Aircraft Technical Publishers US Regulatory Library on CD-ROM or DVD.
    Winner: Jeff Allen, Dassault Falcon Jet, Little Rock (AR)
  • Alaska Airlines: Two first-class round-trip tickets on Alaska Airlines anywhere that Alaska Airlines flies.

  • Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance: A one-year membership in the Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance.

  • Aviation Data Research: The Aviation Data Research PMA Parts Finder CD-ROM with one year's worth of updates.

  • Aviation Maintenance: One quarter-page four-color advertisement in one issue of Aviation Maintenance magazine.
    Winner: Jonathan R. Harnish, Frontier Airlines, Inc., Aurora (CO)
  • Baker's School of Aeronautics: A five-date Inspection Authorization course at Baker's School of Aeronautics, Nashville (TN), the Baker's Inspection Authorization Kit, the FAA testing fee (for qualified applicants), five-night stay at the Wilson Inn, transport to/from the school, and $400 cash.

  • CAE SimuFlite: A maintenance initial training event at CAE SimuFlite's Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas training facility (not including travel, lodging, or food).

  • Electronics Inc.: A free workshop attendance voucher for EI's annual Shot Peening and Blast Cleaning workshop.

  • Frontier Airlines: One round-trip ticket to any destination that Frontier Airlines flies.

  • TIMCO: A Snap-On gift certificate in the amount of $2,000.

  • US Airways: Two positive-space roundtrip coach-class domestic tickets to include Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
    Winner: Debra D. Alford, Timco, Macon (GA)
  • Women In Aviation International: A complimentary registration to our annual March conference and one-year membership or if the winner is already a member we will renew that for a year.
    Winner: Lisa Kirkelie, Aviation Exteriors, Portland (OR)

The statement from AMT also included this:

"Note from AMT Awards Committee: Beginning with the 2004 AMT Awards Program, all entries must be submitted on 8 1/2-inch by 3 3/4-inch application forms. Submitters may use the official FAA form (available from their local FAA FSDO) or they may produce a form in the correct size, provided all necessary contact information is included on the form (name, employer/school name [if applicable], address, phone, e-mail)."
