Source: Federal Court Judge Leonie Brinkema, on her decision to allow prosecutors to call on new aviation security witnesses in the penalty trial of accused 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui. Earlier this week, Brinkema had ruled email messages sent to federal witnesses by TSA attorney Carla Martin had tainted the proceedings to the point that any new evidence presented by prosecutors on aviation security would have still been irrevocably linked to the scandal. Prosecutors had countered that over half of their case against the confessed al-Qaeda member would be lost without such evidence.
