Minneapolis Company Earns EASA Approval For Parts Repair

AWI May Supply Approved Exhaust Parts, Engine Mounts

Aerospace Welding Minneapolis, Inc. announced this week it has gained Part 145 EASA approval (EASA.145.6155) from the European Aviation Safety Agency.

The certificate has been issued under the terms of the current Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA) and the associated Maintenance Implementation Procedures (MIP). The new certification allows Aerospace Welding Minneapolis, Inc to export all overhauled and repaired parts to customers in any EASA member country.

"EASA certification is further proof of the high quality of all of our work, and the responsiveness we show every customer. This latest step in globalization will help us to further serve the aviation industry worldwide," said Tom Heid, President of AWI.

In addition, AWI also announced that its staff includes a FAA designee with DMIR (Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representative) status. This allows for the issuance of Export Certificates of Airworthiness on all of the Aero-Power brand parts for which AWI holds a FAA-PMA.

Aerospace Welding Minneapolis, Inc, is a FAA Certified Repair Station for weld repairs (CRS# UWDR792L), and the world's largest facility for aircraft exhaust overhauls as well as engine mount and turbo mount repairs.
