Andy Matthews, the cofounder and Director of Business Development for iFlightPlanner spends some time to explain how the flight planning function of this app works.
In this video, Matthews goes through the core flight planning sets which include routing, receiving an approved weather briefing, computation of the weight and balance, and then filing an FAA flight plan.
The video is a tutorial showing the functions as Matthew proceeds through the flight planning process. This includes a demonstration of iFlight’s ability to help you plan the route including alternates.
Current weather is displayed as you flight plan which allows the route to be altered as desired. Altering a route is as simple as using the “rubber band” function to move the course line. The video goes on to demonstrate the completion of the flight planning process. And by the way, the flight planning function is available on iFlightPlanner’s website; you don’t have to have an iPad, and it’s free!
This is part 1 of the iFlightPlanner story; part 2 covers the use of iFlight in the cockpit.
