Body Of Second Jaguar Pilot Found In Kashmir

Initial Reports Indicate Weather Was A Factor In Mid-Air

The Indian Air Force hotly denies allegations that it's been using sub-standard parts in its Jaguar aircraft, even as the body of a second pilot was pulled from the wreckage of two aircraft in Kashmir Province Sunday.

Flight Lieutenant Mayank Mayur's body was found in the wreckage of the second aircraft discovered near the town of Sonamarg on Sunday. The body of his wingman, Flight Lieutenant Gagan Oberoi, was found the day before. The Times of India reports both bodies were still strapped into their ejection seats.

Both flight recorders have been recovered and sent to the Jaguars' home base in Ambala for analysis.

The aircraft apparently collided in what the IAF calls a "sudden deterioration in weather" on Saturday. There were also reports of rebel gunfire in the vicinity.

The IAF was accused of using spare parts that didn't meet standards, according to the Times. But officials with the Indian Air Force denied that, saying they only use approved spares.
