Blue Origin viewers got a little bit of excitement this week as the uncrewed NS-23 launch ended with some dramatic flare as the crew capsule apparently aborted the launch and departed the booster. Viewers of the livestreamed launch saw NS-23 ascend to a height of about 30,000 feet before spying an unexpected spurt of flames from the New Shepard crew capsule. Tamarack Completes Inaugural Citation M2 Gen 2 Upgrade

Tamarack has announced the first SMARTWING upgrade of Cessna’s Citation M2 GEN 2. Collectively, the FAA and EASA certified SMARTWING modification improves high and hot take-off performance, boosts aircraft climb-rate, enhances high-altitude and landing stability, and increases range by decreasing both drag and fuel-burn. The Citation M2 Gen 2 is the latest in Cessna’s CE525 family of aircraft.

First In-Field Deployment of SF50 Ballistic Parachute System

A Cirrus SF50 Vision jet came to rest in a marshy area near Kissimmee, Florida's Gateway Airport after its pilot, for reasons yet unknown, deployed the aircraft's ballistic parachute. The plane's three passengers were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident marks the first in-field deployment of an SF50 ballistic recovery system.

A mission-ending anomaly occurred during an unmaned flight of Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket on the morning of 12 September 2022. On July 30, 2022, about 1005 eastern daylight time, an experimental amateur-built Tango 2 gyroplane, N8680G, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Melrose, Florida.
