Beechcraft's turbine-powered trainer plane passed an impressive milestone this week with the delivery of the 1,000th T-6 Texan II, which found its home with the Colombian Air Force. Their fleet of 5 T-6C trainers are assigned to the Air Combat Command No. 1 (CACOM-1), headquartered at Capitan Germán Olano Moreno Air Base in Palanquero, Colombia. Splashdown! Crew 4 Returns Home From 170 Day Journey

The Crew-4 Mission Launched At 0352EDT April 27

NASA’s SpaceX Crew-4 astronauts aboard the Dragon spacecraft safely splashed down Friday off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida, completing the agency’s fourth commercial crew mission to the International Space Station. The international crew of four spent 170 days in orbit. NASA astronauts Bob Hines, Kjell Lindgren, and Jessica Watkins and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti returned to Earth in a parachute-assisted splashdown at 4:55 p.m. EDT. Teams aboard SpaceX recovery vessels retrieved the spacecraft and astronauts.

APA Fights Extension of Equipment Exemption for Boeing MAX Aircraft

American Airlines Pilots Fly More Than 300 B-737s

The Allied Pilots Association (APA), representing the 15,000 pilots of American Airlines, expressed its strong opposition to any extension of the equipment exemption for the Boeing 737-7 MAX and Boeing 737-10 MAX. The exemption expires this December. “Boeing needs to proceed with installing modern crew alerting systems on these aircraft to mitigate pilot startle-effect and confusion during complex, compound system malfunctions,” said APA President Capt. NTSB Prelim: Aeronca 7AC

Was The Pilot’s First Flight In 20 Years...

On August 29, 2022, about 1250 eastern daylight time, an Aeronca 7AC airplane, N1478E, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Jacksboro, Tennessee. The private pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to a friend of the pilot, he purchased the airplane the day prior to the accident. She said this was the pilot’s first flight in 20 years, and he just wanted to “take it up for a flight.”
