Continental, an AVIC International Holding LTD company, has named  Robert J. Stoppek (pictured) as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and president. Stoppek was formerly the CEO for Waukesha Engine, part of the former GE Distributed Power business prior to joining Continental.

The prototype SN1003, a New Generation of the Dornier Seastar amphibious aircraft successfully performed its first flight last week at Oberpfaffenhofen EDMO airport, Germany. The flight was performed by Dornier Seawings test pilot crew and took 31 minutes. The Seastar SN1003 attained the required approvals from EASA and LBA on 19 March 2020, this was a major milestone and achievement for the program. In what may be a glimmer of good news for the airline industry once the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, the FAA said that commercial air travel passenger levels grew 4.2 percent on U.S. airlines in the last fiscal year (FY), from 780 million in FY 2018 to 813.3 million in FY 2019, according to the FAA's Aerospace Forecast FY 2020-2040 released Thursday.
