Laguna Beach And FAA Settle Metroplex Litigation

Departure Procedure Will Minimize Flights Over The City

The City of Laguna Beach, CA has settled its lawsuit against the FAA challenging the Metroplex decision as it relates to commercial jet aircraft operations at John Wayne Airport (JWA). The City Council filed the lawsuit because the Metroplex environmental document and record of decision appeared to give the FAA broad discretion to adopt standard commercial jet departure and arrival procedures dramatically different than longstanding patterns that would potentially have a significant noise impact on Laguna Beach residents.

Aviation Capital Group Takes Delivery Of Its First Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft

Will Be Placed On Long-Term Lease With Aerolineas Argentinas

Aviation Capital Group LLC has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX in Seattle, Washington. The aircraft, a 737 MAX 8 variant, is on a long-term lease to Aerolineas Argentinas, Argentina’s flag carrier, and is the first of three 737 MAX 8 aircraft to be delivered from ACG’s orderbook to Aerolineas Argentinas. ACG has ordered a total of 80 737 MAX aircraft from Boeing.

Challenger Center announced that several of the lessons Christa McAuliffe planned to perform aboard the Challenger shuttle during the Teacher in Space mission will be completed aboard the International Space Station (ISS) this year.
