ANN Real-Time Update, 07.07.13, 0003 ET: Nearly a half a day after the tragic landing accident that destroyed an Asiana B777-200LR, we know the following -- There is a clear and substantial debris trail from the seawall that borders the waters of the bay and the RWY 28L displaced threshold area to the touchdown point on the runway. Debris from the airplane is imbedded in the seawall and lines the theeshold area... most of it being the highly fragmented tail section of the 777, which appears to have lost most of the structure from the aft pressure bulkhead to the absolute tail of the aircraft. British Airways (BA) has become the tenth operator to receive an Airbus A380 after taking delivery of the first of 12 aircraft on order. BA is the first UK operator of the A380 and will start to deploy its new flagship aircraft on routes from London Heathrow to Los Angeles and Hong Kong.

Aircraft Slated For Delivery Later This Year

The non-profit medical transportation company CareFlite, based in north Texas, has ordered four Bell 407GX helicopters, according to a Bell Helicopter news release. The aircraft will transport ill or injured patients to critical care facilities, serving more than 100 counties within a 150-mile radius of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The new aircraft are slated for delivery this year.

The third F-35B Short Takeoff/Vertical Landing (STOVL) Lightning II for the United Kingdom arrived at Eglin Air Force Base, FL Tuesday, where it will be used for pilot and maintainer training. U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Roger Hardy piloted the aircraft known as BK-3 (ZM137) on its 90-minute ferry flight from the Lockheed Martin F-35 production facility at Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base.
