Medium-Lift German Military Transport Flies On Schedule
The CH-53GA medium-lift military transport helicopter
successfully completed its first flight over the Bavarian town of
Donauwörth before an admiring crowd of approximately 150
guests. Eurocopter test pilot Rene Nater and flight engineer
Antoine Van Gent were at the controls.
Airline Will Add Two P.180 Avanti II's With An Option For A
Just as the Singapore Air Show was wrapping up, Susi Air and
Piaggio Aero Industries announced an agreement for two additional
P.180 Avanti II delivered to Indonesia. Susi Air ordered two
P.180 Avanti II and signed an agreement for 1 further option.
Anticipates Increasing Demand For UAV Pilots In The U.S. In Two
As early as 2012, thousands of civilian unmanned air vehicles
(UAVs) could take to the sky, if the FAA allows them to share U.S.
airspace with other aircraft. When that happens, professionals will
be needed to operate them.
Four Helos Ordered To Develop Commercial Helicopter Market In
Eurocopter Southeast Asia (ESEA) said late last week it has
signed its first contract with Vinacopter for the purchase of four
aircraft. Eurocopter calls this sale a vote of confidence for its
products in a rapidly developing market.
Military Aircrews Will Work Alongside Civilians In SAR
The Soteria Consortium has been chosen to provide a "harmonized"
Search and Rescue Helicopter (SAR-H) service for the UK well into
the 21st century, the Ministry of Defence and the Department for
Transport announced Wednesday.
Airline To Begin Charging For Blanket And Pillow Package
Passengers planning to fly on American Airlines after May 1st
may want to consider dressing in layers for their flights, because
the airline says it plans to begin charging $8 for a blanket and
pillow set in economy class.
Biofuel Plant One Of Several Experiments On Board STS-130
UK-based Carbon Credited Farming (CCF) congratulated NASA on the
successful launch of the Endeavour Space Shuttle today. It lifted
off from Kennedy Space Center taking with it new scientific
