fly up to 65. Thursday evening, President Bush signed legislation
officially raising the mandatory retirement age for commercial
pilots to 65 from 60, bringing US standards in line with those of
the International Civil Aviation Organization.

Boeing reported this week it is set to begin full production of
the new 777 Freighter, now that engineers recently have completed
more than 90 percent of the design work for the new cargo airplane.
Boeing will start assembly of the first 777 Freighter in early 2008
at its Everett, WA facility.

Cowan as Southeast Regional Sales Manager. The avionics
manufacturer tells ANN Cowan is an 800-hour instrument-rated
private pilot with extensive sales experience and regional
knowledge. He is based in Tampa, FL.
$300 Million Deal Is Carrier's First Move Into US Market
One of American's most popular low-cost airlines will now carry
a bit of German flavor. On Thursday, Deutsche Lufthansa AG
announced it would pay $300 million for a 19-percent stake in
JetBlue Airways Corp. -- the first time Lufthansa has made a move
into the US airline industry.
Aero-News has learned Alliant Techsystems recently demonstrated
a critical capability of its liquid oxygen (LOX)/Methane rocket
engine, by igniting it in a vacuum chamber. The successful ignition
test was designed to demonstrate the viability of a LOX/Methane
rocket engine for a lunar ascent mission.
