A Cessna Citation III went down Saturday morning at Houston
Hobby airport while attempting an emergency landing, killing the
pilot and copilot onboard. The plane has just departed Hobby after
being told to expedite its takeoff in order to make room for an
incoming Southwest 737 that had declared a prior emergency, but was
then diverted to nearby airport instead.

Avidyne Corporation and AirShares Elite announced Friday that
AirShares Elite will implement the newly introduced Release 6
upgrade to Avidyne Entegra Integrated Flight Decks on its fleet of
42 Cirrus Design SR20 and SR22 aircraft. The software upgrade
provides common fleet features including Flight Director, XM WX
weather, approach chart display and dozens of other enhancements
for safe and enjoyable flying.
EDO Corporation has been selected by the Boeing Company to
design and develop pneumatic ejector bomb-rack units for the U.S.
Navy’s new P-8A Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft. Boeing is
the prime contractor for the P-8A aircraft, a much-modified
Raytheon Aircraft Company announced that the LoPresti Boom Beam
landing light system is now a factory option on the Hawker 800XP.
In addition, the Boom Beam is now certified for aftermarket
installation on the Beechjet 400 series aircraft.
Max-Viz -- makers of Enhanced Vision Systems for aircraft using
real-time infrared sensors, signal processing, and a cockpit
display to provide flight crews with actual images of terrain,
aircraft, and other potential obstacles during poor visibility
conditions -- has named Lou Churchville its new VP of Sales for the
"Easy for the pilot to fly, easy to operate in all environments,
and just like the CIRRUS SR22, this airplane will be designed so
that everyone on board will enjoy the experience."
