CIRRUS Design has had a good week at Oshkosh... but took a
little time to look back as the 'first-ever CIRRUS aircraft' - the
kit-built VK30 - was inducted into the Experimental Aircraft
Association's AirVenture museum.
Aside from being home to the EAA and its annual celebration of
all things flight-related, Wisconsin has also been the home to
several aviation pioneers, each of whom had meaningful impacts on
the early days of modern flight.

I consider myself to be pretty well heeled in aviation history
and while I freely admit that I am not aware of every aircraft ever
made, this one was a real surprise… and a real find. The
Kreutzer Model K-5, 'Air Coach' is today's Plane of the Day. Never
heard of Kreutzer before? Good, that makes at least two of us.
