Pilot Lands LSA On A Florida City Street After Engine Failure

Parked Flight Design CTLS In Front Of The Brevard County Government Complex

A nearly 90-year-old pilot who flew P-47 Thunderbolts and P-51 Mustangs during WWII made a perfect deadstick landing in a Flight Design CTLS LSA Friday after experiencing an engine problem with the airplane. Neither 89-year-old pilot Col. Victor Hernandez or his passenger, identified a Tim Hayes, were injured in the incident.
