More Than 10,000 Sign EAA Sport Pilot Petition

Support poured in from throughout the nation over the past few days for EAA's sport pilot/light-sport aircraft petition to the federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB), resulting in signatures from more than 10,000 EAA members, other pilots, and aviation enthusiasts. The petition drive ended early Sunday morning, April 25.

The EAA AirVenture Forums scheduling team has posted the initial schedule of EAA AirVenture forum presentations on the organization's website. Hundreds of presentations feature virtually any aviation topic, including aircraft design, history, vintage aircraft, family aviation, medical certification, piloting, insurance and of course, sport pilot/light-sport aircraft, to name a few.

Nesmith Cougar Takes Unscheduled Exit

Lands On Florida Turnpike After Engine Trouble

Barry Squire was minding his own business, flying along in his 1960 Nesmith Cougar (file photos of type, right and below) shortly after take-off, when he realized he was about to miss his exit. So he made what the Florida Highway Patrol says was a perfect landing on Florida's Turnpike in northern St. Lucie County.
