While at EAA AirVenture 2013, ANN CEO and Editor-in-Chief, Jim Campbell, looks into another segment of aviation to explore the state of model aviation art. This led him to talk to Matt Andren at the Horizon Hobby display booth. Matt said the rapidly advancing technology in the world of model planes has made it more fun and more people are participating. The advances in design and the advent of electric powered RC planes allowed the costs of RC modeling to drop significantly.

Committee Hass Approved The Measure, Full House Vote Expected Soon

EAA is encouraging all Kansas EAA members to contact their state representatives and request support for H.B. 2542, which would exempt homebuilt aircraft from annual property tax assessment in the state. The bill recently passed through the House Committee on Taxation and will soon go to a vote on the House floor. If the bill passes the House, it will then move to the Senate for a vote.
