By Aero-News Senior Correspondent Kevin R.C. "Hognose" O'Brien We just got the word that the Global Eagle world flight came to an end -- in October. At Aero-News we were pummeled this way and that by the events of 2004, and we didn't get the press release. We don't think there was a press release, actually, as the demoralized Global Eagle team trickled back to their day jobs. So it was news to us, and no one had mentioned it at the rotary forum.com web site (where I hang out sometimes), so we reckon it's probably news to you, too.

Florida Deputies Check Out Ultralight

From the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office in Punta Gorda, FL: Some of the area media reported on an incident report from the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office concerning a multi-colored parachute-style ultra-light aircraft flying several times over the Punta Gorda water plant and dam area. The Chief Operator at the plant made the report to deputies Monday morning saying there was an orange-red-blue and yellow ultra-light flying over the facility. A witness said the pilot was taking photographs of the facility.

EAA Canadian Council Briefs Transport Canada On SP/LSA

Representatives of EAA's Canadian Council are among those meeting this week with Transport Canada officials in Ottawa, Ontario, to discuss integrating sport pilot/light-sport aircraft regulations with Canadian aircraft regulations. Those present for the two-day meeting (December 7-8) included Council Chairman G. Denis Browne along with members Jack Dueck, Herb Cunningham, and Frank Hofmann.
