The FAA Light Sport Aviation Branch is continuing to "switch on"
the elements of Light Sport Aircraft and Sport Pilot at a
remarkable pace. Latest information from the Light Sport Branch is
that they have begun to review for acceptance industry-developed
training courses for light sport repairman.

These courses relate to maintenance of light sport aircraft
as detailed below:
Inspection Ratings
After completing a 16-hour training course acceptable to the FAA
on inspecting the particular class of experimental light-sport
aircraft, a light sport repairman with an inspection rating may
perform the annual condition inspection on a light-sport aircraft
that he/she owns; that has been issued an experimental certificate
for operating a light-sport aircraft; and is in the same class of
light-sport-aircraft for which he/she has completed the light sport
aircraft training specified by FAA.
Rosco McGlashan, the "Fastest Aussie on Earth" will attempt to
become the fastest man in the world by exceeding 900 mph in his new
rocket powered Aussie Invader race car. McGlashan announced that he
is engaged in ongoing design discussions for the world's fastest
car with rocket motor developer SpaceDev of Poway, CA, and with car
designer John "Ackers" Ackroyd of the Isle of Wight.
