Estimated Job Losses Set At 570 As Operations Move To Florida
Citing "declining defense budgets," Sikorsky announced that it would close its plant in Horseheads, NY, at the end of the year and move the factory's functions to its operation in West Palm Beach, FL. The move will reportedly cost 570 people their jobs.
The KC-46A tanker program could fall victim to automatic budget cuts that are possible this winter, but it is not certain that the program would be stopped.
