U.S. Navy Primary Trainers Delivered This Summer Get Avionics
Upgrade
Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) recently achieved a
significant milestone by receiving Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) certification of its T-6B military trainer aircraft. The
T-6B, an avionics upgrade variant of the highly successful T-6A
trainer, will be the primary flight training aircraft of the U.S.
Navy.
PZL Mielec Will Assemble The International Version Of The Black
Hawk
PZL Mielec, a Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. company in Poland, has
begun final assembly of the first S-70i Black Hawk helicopter. The
production marks the beginning of a new helicopter in the Sikorsky
product line, an international variant of the Black Hawk.
Citing savings of almost $3 billion over the next five years,
the U.S. Air Force is considering cancelling a planned software
upgrade for its fleet of C-130 transports, Bloomberg News
reports.
"Hunter" UAS With Viper Strike System Will Soon Deploy In
Theater
The Hunter Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) designed and built by
Northrop Grumman Corporation, has successfully completed
testing of the new GPS-guided Viper Strike (VS) weapons system at
White Sands Missile Range, NM. The GPS VS will soon deploy to
theater.
