US Army, USAF Intercept Cruise Missile With JLENS-Guided AMRAAM

Multiple Systems Seamlessly Integrate To counter The Threat

The U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force  for the first time intercepted an anti-ship cruise missile surrogate using Raytheon's Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) cued by JLENS, an elevated, persistent over-the-horizon sensor system. JLENS uses a powerful integrated radar system to detect, track and target a variety of threats.

Thirty Mk 1 Aircraft Being Converted To Mk 2 At Yeovil

The first five AW101 Merlin HM Mk 2 helicopters have been delivered to the Royal Navy's 824 Naval Air Squadron based at RNAS Culdrose in Southwest England by AgustaWestland. A ceremony was held at RNAS Culdrose to celebrate the formation of the Navy's first Merlin HM Mk 2 equipped squadron.

Keeping C-5s In Prime Fighting Condition

Each Airplane Is Given A 'Tune Up' Every Four Years

All C-5 Galaxies undergo an inspection at Dover Air Force Base's isochronal maintenance dock to ensure flight components work properly to extend the life of the Air Force's largest airlifter. The dock is run by 436th and 512th Maintenance Group personnel and they conduct the Maintenance Steering Group Three inspection. This inspection is completed every four years, takes up to 46 days and is basically a tune up for the aircraft.
