Cessna Delivers 32nd Caravan To Brazil's Air Force

Nine 208B Aircraft Delivered, Contract Completed

Cessna said Wednesday it has completed the delivery of the 32nd Model 208/208B Caravan aircraft to Força Aérea Brasileira, the air branch of the Brazilian armed forces. This delivery completes a contract for nine new Caravans.

DARPA Conducts Second Hypersonic Test Flight

DARPA’s second flight test of the Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2 launched  aboard an Air Force Minotaur IV rocket at 0745 PDT Thursday. DARPA updates indicated that the launch appeared to go well, but monitoring stations lost contact with the Falcon during the glide phase of the flight.

Missing Hornet Crew Rescued By USCG

Aircraft Also Recovered

Coast Guard crews rescued two Marines after their F/A-18 Hornet jet went down into the Pacific Ocean approximately 85 miles southwest of San Diego, Aug. 10, 2011. Both Marines are reported to be in stable condition.

F-35 Ground Operations Resume

First Step In Return To Flight Testing

The F-35 Joint Program Office authorized a return to ground operations for the F-35 developmental test (DT) aircraft today. This is the first step in returning the F-35 fleet to full flight operations. A precautionary suspension of both ground and flight operations for the program was issued Aug. 3.
