Should Boeing be successful in lobbying the Pentagon for more time to develop a larger aerial refueling tanker for the US Air Force KC-X competition -- to offer an alternative to the tanker put forth by a consortium of Northrop Grumman and EADS -- then those parties could also use that time to develop an alternative of their own, Northrop said this week.
