A bearing assembly failure caused an F-16 Fighting Falcon to
crash in an unpopulated dry area close to Carrington Island in the
Great Salt Lake, Utah, during a training mission March 30,
according to an Air Force report released Aug. 7.
Two MV-22B “Ospreys,” belonging to Marine Tiltrotor
Test and Evaluation Squadron 22, made history last month by
completing the first-ever Tiltrotor Vertical Assault Aircraft
trans-Atlantic flights Saturday, July 29. The “Ospreys”
successfully flew from North Carolina to England and back.
Time flies -- and so does the Eurofighter Typhoon... The
Eurofighter Typhoon fleet in the four partner air forces of
Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom has surpassed the
10,000 flying hours in July 2006. Together with 4.550 flying hours
of the test aircraft, the Eurofighter Typhoon fleet is approaching
the 15,000 flying hours mark rapidly.
