Sikorsky Contract With Spirit AeroSystems On CH-53K Evaluation Structures

Will Supply Major Structural Cockpit And Cabin Components

Spirit AeroSystems said Thursday it has received a $60 million contract from Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. to supply the major structural cockpit and cabin components of four additional CH-53K heavy lift helicopters. Designated System Demonstration Test Articles (SDTA), the four production-representative aircraft will be used by the U.S. Marine Corps to evaluate the helicopter's mission capabilities in service operating conditions.

KALB Study To Lead To A High-Throughput SATCOM Terminal

The French defense Procurement Agency (DGA) has signed a contract making Thales Alenia Space the prime contractor for a study designed to enhance communications between ground and military mission aircraft through a telecommunication satellite without interruption during extreme flying conditions, such as attitude, tight turns, and landing.
