S-61 Disappeared From Radar Friday During Routine Flight
The wreckage of a Royal Malaysian Air Force Sikorsky S-61 "Nuri"
helicopter, which disappeared Friday during a flight from Kuala
Lumpur to a military base in Pahang, was found in a deep ravine
hidden in dense forest in the central state of Pahang Tuesday.
A quick turnaround by the Air Force Security Assistance Center
at Ohio's Wright-Patterson Air Force Base -- and other AFMC Foreign
Military Sales (FMS) organizations -- has helped to strengthen the
tactical airlift capability of the Norwegian Air Force, by
arranging for the sale of four C-130J-30 aircraft.
International Training Exercise Runs Through July 27
Airmen from the Land of the Rising Sun arrived in the Land of
the Midnight on July 11, in preparation for the Red Flag-Alaska air
combat training exercise.
