ANN REALTIME REPORTING 07.16.06 2115 EDT: A vintage
fighter plane, believed to be a Hawker Hunter participating in
the Hillsboro Air Show near Portland, OR, went down late Sunday
afternoon, crashing into three homes and sparking a large fire that
forced emergency officials to evacuate a 10-block radius around the
crash site.
The pilot of a Royal Air Force Harrier GR9 is being credited
with avoiding homes and businesses when his stricken bird went down
Thursday afternoon while en route to this weekend's Royal
International Air Tattoo in Gloucestershire.
