The Visual Warning System being fielded by North American
Aerospace Command (NORAD), in coordination with the FAA and the Air
Force Rapid Capabilities Office, will become operational Saturday,
May 21, 2005.
A battle now looming in Washington could be felt far out in
Earth orbit. It's a battle over whether the US should weaponize or
otherwise protect its vital satellites from attack.
Next Phase Of Battlefield Surveillance And Recon System To Be
Tested
US forces operating in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere may soon
be able to use "MAJIIC" to locate an enemy position on the
battlefield and share intelligence information and imagery with
coalition allies in near-real time.
