The Marine Corps' newest utility and attack helicopters, the
UH-1Y and AH-1Z, made their first shipboard landings May 7 while
conducting shipboard compatibility testing, or "sea trials."
Civil Air Patrol’s national capital wing is helping the
Air Force test its new visual warning system for pilots, a security
measure set to become operational over the Washington, D.C., area
on May 21, officials said.
Thirteen people -- 12 Zambian soldiers and a civilian -- were
lost Wednesday when their RC Y-12 went down shortly after taking
off from Lusaka. There was no immediate indication as to the cause
of the mishap.
