Sad news from the high desert of New Mexico -- George Cambron's
body has been found in the wreckage of his MiG-17.
The 50-year old Cambron was on a flight from Roswell to Deer Valley
Airport, north of Phoenix (AZ) Thursday when he radioed that he was
having fuel transfer problems, according to New Mexico State
Police.
The Navy wants it back -- a 60-year old Brewster F3A-1 Corsair
salvaged by warbird enthusiast Lex Cralley. So the government is
suing the Princeton (MN) aircraft mechanic, demanding he return the
wreckage he salvaged in 1990.
BAE Systems has introduced a day/night, all-weather capability
designed to enable pilots to navigate and land in degraded visual
environments. The capability combines radar, infrared sensors, and
low-light-level TV to enable pilot visibility in dust-outs, smoke,
fog, haze, rain, snow, and complete darkness.
