A test flight of Bell's Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter (ARH)
prototype ended sooner, and more dramatically, than the company had
hoped for Wednesday afternoon.
A Boeing flight test crew deployed the air refueling boom on the
Japan Air Self-Defense Force's (JASDF) future KC-767 Tanker for the
first time February 17, in the skies over western Kansas.
Don't look now... but Airbus appears to be steadily increasing
its foothold on the global aerial refueling market, at a time when
the company is locked in competition with Boeing for a lucrative US
Air Force contract. On Wednesday, reports surfaced of two new
global orders for Airbus' A330-derived tanker, from Saudi Arabia
and the United Arab Emirates.
Aero-News learned this week Raytheon Technical Services Company
LLC (RTSC), a subsidiary of Raytheon Company, has received two
awards totaling $27.7 million from the US Navy to provide services
and systems for the V-22 Osprey aircraft.
