Britain's Royal Air Force has purchased its sixth C-17
Globemaster transport aircraft. The contract with Boeing, for a
130-million pounds, or about $260 million, was announced
Monday.
British Defense Secretary Des Browne told parliament Tuesday the
mid-air explosion of a 38-year-old Nimrod MR2 over Afghanistan in
September 2006 was most likely caused by a fuel leak.
Historic Planes To Be Displayed If Funds Can Be Raised
The Fort Worth Veteran’s Memorial Air Park (FTW VMAP) told
ANN Tuesday about plans to recover and restore four aircraft with
significant ties to Fort Worth, TX. The OV-10 Bronco Association,
owner and operator of the FTW VMAP and Forward Air
Controller’s Museum (FACM) plan to display these aircraft at
Meacham Field as soon as their homecomings can be financed and
arranged.
French Defense Procurement Agency DGA has ordered 68 NH90
Tactical Transport Helicopters from the NHIndustries. The
consortium is comprised of Eurocopter, AgustaWestland and Stork
Fokker.
