Air Force senior leaders are looking at ways to balance the ratio of regular and Reserve Component Airmen to create the most effective and efficient combat capability in austere budget times. Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley is leading collaborative efforts between active, Reserve and Guard leaders to find the right force composition that will ensure the total force remains healthy and viable.

Ready-for-Training Device Leverages High Performance Quantum3D Independence IDX 6000 Image Generator

Two companies have gotten together to develop a Boom Operator Weapons System Trainer (BOWST) aerial refueling simulator, which has been declared ready-for-training by the United States Air Force. This is the first KC-135R boom operator trainer to receive SIMCERT (Simulator Certification), allowing transfer of training credits from the aircraft to the simulator.
