Air Force senior leaders are looking at ways to balance the
ratio of regular and Reserve Component Airmen to create the most
effective and efficient combat capability in austere budget times.
Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley is leading collaborative
efforts between active, Reserve and Guard leaders to find the right
force composition that will ensure the total force remains healthy
and viable.
Involved In Rescue Mission To Recover Sailors From A Capsized
Boat
Five sailors are feared lost following the capsize of their
sailboat in the Irish Sea on Sunday. Two have been rescued, and the
body of the eight sailor has been recovered.
Two companies have gotten together to develop a Boom
Operator Weapons System Trainer (BOWST) aerial refueling simulator,
which has been declared ready-for-training by the United States Air
Force. This is the first KC-135R boom operator trainer to receive
SIMCERT (Simulator Certification), allowing transfer of training
credits from the aircraft to the simulator.
