An F-22 Raptor on a training mission in Alaska lost contact with
Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson about 1940 local time Tuesday.
There has been no further contact with the aircraft or the single
pilot on board.
The U.S. Government issued an RFP in July seeing bids for 21
Mi-171 helicopters to support its anti-terrorism campaign in
Afghanistan. On Monday at Airshow China, Rosoboronexport, Russia's
state-run arms exporter, said it plans to compete for that
contract.
Two More Of The Helos Are In Final Production In Mielec
An S-70i Black Hawk helicopter has flown in Poland for the first
time, a milestone for the helicopter line being produced by
Sikorsky Aircraft's company in Poland, PZL Mielec.
Refurbished Space For Testing, Systems Installation
Boeing cut the ribbon on a new P-8 aircraft production facility
near Boeing Field in Seattle late last week. The refurbished
factory gives Boeing and its P-8 teammates the space they need to
install mission systems and conduct tests on aircraft.
